Greetings once more Jake, |
I applaud your efforts thus far to begin your training as a Twilio developer. Now that you have created a Twilio account, there are a few important steps to take next. |
First, I suggest that you provision a phone number for your account. Many Twilio APIs, such as those that allow you to send SMS messages and make voice calls, require a programmable Twilio phone number. All free trial accounts include a phone number for your use during testing. Upgrading your account will enable you to use a phone number of your choice, and allow your code to contact nearly any phone number on the planet. |
Once you obtain a programmable phone number, you can use it to receive calls, respond to SMS messages, place an outbound phone call, or send an outbound SMS message. |
Remember that you have our full support in this endeavor. Should you require any assistance, please visit our support center. |
I shall return soon with more tips to further your Twilio training.

Onward! Cedric @TwilioQuest |
P.S. - Download and play TwilioQuest for a fun, interactive way to learn how to send and receive SMS messages, make and receive phone calls, and use all of Twilio’s other communications APIs. An exciting adventure in software development awaits you in The Cloud. |
